A lot of my motivation in creating Glass Wrappings was my love of entertaining. I felt our tagline, "Celebrations Simplified," perfectly summed up my desire to make the tasks associated with entertaining as easy as possible!
Thankfully, I also love to cook, so from time to time I am going to share my favorite recipes. I'm going to try to keep them pretty simple, but if they do require more work, I promise they will be worth it!
Here is my recipe for "Amazing Crab and Shrimp Dip" - it's one I share often. I made it again this week for a gathering of my in-laws at a gorgeous home on Lake Maxinkuchee in northern Indiana.
Amazing Crab and Shrimp Dip
1 small onion;
1 small loaf of sourdough bread
1 can of shrimp
1 can of crab
1-1/2 cups of regular mayonnaise
1-1/2 cups of light mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
Salt, pepper, and garlic to taste
Day One:
1. Mince the onion.
2. Tear or cut the bread into small pieces.
3. Combine the bread and the onion and store in a covered bowl overnight in the refrigerator.
4. Combine the mayonnaises, shrimp, and crab, and store in a covered bowl overnight in the refrigerator.
Day Two:
1. Combine the contents of the two bowls and refrigerate for a few hours, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to mix and come to a thick consistency
2. Adjust the seasonings as needed.
